How important is Underlay?

During the process of buying carpet from us you can ask to stand on carpet with the various underlays that we stock. We supply a range of well respected brands of underlay and you will experience a different “feel” with each one. You can choose the one that you prefer.

The higher the quality of rubber or foam underlay the more luxurious it will feel, the more support it will give your new carpet and the quieter it will make your home, especially in second floor installations and on staircases. You will be just as satisfied with either rubber or foam underlays of similar quality and price, so you can choose the one that feels the best to you.

We recommend that you change your underlay when you replace your carpet. Underlay wears as the carpet wears, leaving it with the wear patterns from the old carpet. It is important to note that a manufacturer may void the warranty of a carpet if it is laid on old underlay.

How long will it take to install floorcovering in my home?
